Magna Carta

Magna Carta

Founded in 1976, the Magna Carta Chapter proudly draws its name from one of the most important documents in British—and world—history. The Magna Carta, signed in 1215, laid the foundation for constitutional government, establishing principles of justice, liberty, and the rule of law. It remains a symbol of individual rights and enduring democratic values—ideals that resonate with our chapter’s commitment to service and community.

Our members come from across the Kansas City metropolitan area, with a strong presence in the southeast part of the city. However, we warmly welcome women from all areas who share a connection to British or Commonwealth heritage and a desire to make a meaningful impact through fellowship and philanthropy.

We meet on the third Saturday of each month, coming together to plan charitable activities, enjoy each other’s company, and strengthen the bonds of friendship that are central to the DBE experience.

As an active chapter, we proudly participate in the Annual British Faire alongside our sister chapters, sharing British and Commonwealth culture and raising funds for charitable causes. Our fundraising efforts support Cantata / The British Home, as well as local nonprofits including Rose Brooks Center, which provides safety and support for survivors of domestic violence, and the Happy Bottoms Diaper Program, which helps families in need with essential infant care items.

The Magna Carta Chapter is a welcoming, community-minded group of women who enjoy giving back—and having fun while doing it. If you're looking for lasting friendships, a deeper connection to your heritage, and a chance to make a difference, we invite you to come visit us.
