Royal Arms
Chartered in 1973, the Royal Arms Chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire in Kansas proudly carries a name that reflects centuries of tradition and national identity. The Royal Arms Crest has its origins in the 12th century. Over time, it evolved to represent not just the ruling sovereign but the unity of nations under the Crown. Today, the Royal Arms still appears on official documents, courtrooms, and government buildings, symbolizing stability, heritage, and service—all values that resonate deeply with our chapter.

Our chapter includes about 20 members from across the Kansas City metropolitan area, with many residing in Johnson County. We meet regularly, adjusting our schedule with the seasons to best accommodate our members:

-
During Daylight Saving Time (March through November), we gather on the second Wednesday evening of the month in members’ homes.
-
During Standard Time (December through February), we meet on the second Saturday morning at a Johnson County Library.
-
We take a summer break in July and August, returning refreshed for a busy fall season.

Every meeting begins with a warm social time over tea and treats, reflecting our shared love for fellowship and a touch of British tradition.

The Royal Arms Chapter actively participates in the Annual British Faire and Tea, joining fellow chapters to celebrate British culture and raise funds for meaningful causes. We proudly support Cantata / The British Home and also host two "Plate It Forward" fundraisers each year in partnership with Houlihan’s in Leawood, one in spring and one in fall. These events allow us to support local charities and connect with the community in a fun, delicious way.

Whether you’re interested in service, heritage, or simply the joy of sharing a cup of tea, we would love to welcome you to the Royal Arms Chapter.
